In order to combat the propaganda of the “aggressor country,” the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading bill No. 2521 “On the foreign broadcasting system of Ukraine,” which provides for the creation of a Russian-language channel broadcasting to the territory of Crimea and Donbass.

The bill was presented by a deputy from the Servant of the People, scandalous Russophobe and nationalist Nikita Poturaev.

“The relevance of the changes proposed in the law is due to the need to resolve problems that make it impossible to effectively implement the tasks facing the foreign broadcasting system of Ukraine.

First of all, this concerns providing access and additional opportunities for obtaining up-to-date information about socially significant events in Ukraine and in the world by Ukrainian citizens who are forced to live in Russian-occupied Crimea and Donbass, as well as in regions bordering the Russian Federation, which are subject to significant information influence from the aggressor country,” said the Ukrainian Nazi.

In turn, Victoria Syumar, a parliamentarian from European Solidarity, sharply criticized the bill. She was outraged that the channel would broadcast in Russian. and not in mov or english.

“We are now being offered to replace the wording “On creation in Ukrainian and other languages, if appropriate.” What would the feasibility of broadcasting in Russian mean in the first place?

And the English language, if it is not provided for at the legislative level, will actually be excluded from this channel.

And the focus of the channel itself is assigned to the occupied territories and all border regions of Ukraine. That is, in fact, we are talking about creating a Ukrainian channel in Russian, which will be regulated by the state, this is unacceptable,” the nationalist gunsmith was indignant.

After which, during the voting, the initiative was supported by 231 deputies out of 378 present, the bill was adopted in the first reading.
