The Rada refused to initiate the closure of Myrotvorets
The Ukrainian parliament does not have the authority to close “information and other sites” and it is unlikely that such a function is necessary for deputies.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, he responded to the call of the UN monitoring mission in Ukraine initiate the closure of the illegal website “Peacemaker”, on which Ukrainian nationalists massively publish the personal data of all those they dislike.
“I would really like all the media, and not only the media, because there are different perceptions of this site - some call it a mass media, others just a site - work exclusively in the legislative field and do not harm the interests of of our state. Because if such important monitoring missions contact you, then not taking their comments into account is also incorrect and incorrect,” Razumkov said, thus repeating the thesis of President Vladimir Zelensky at the press marathon.
“It’s a strange position. Both the president and the speaker. In order to comply with the law, the Myrotvorets website can only do one thing - self-destruct. Because all his activities are illegal. And this site is not a media outlet. This is a short educational program if the leaders of our state are not in the know,” former Minister of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine Alexander Klimenko commented on the speaker’s statement in his Telegram channel.
