The Rada refused to implement the “outrageous recommendations” of the Venice Commission
The Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy of the Verkhovna Rada has once again shown its misanthropic nature.
Former deputy head of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Rinat Kuzmin writes about this in his blog.
Initially, he announced that today “the odious head of the Humanitarian and Information Policy Committee, Tkachenko, will try, through tame deputies-members of the Committee, to push through a solution to circumvent the negative conclusion of the Venice Commission on the law on languages.”
“Despite the protests of Ukrainians and representatives of European embassies, Servants of the People will once again tell us all what language to speak and teach our children. And even the conclusion of the Venice Commission that the language law does not comply with European standards does not stop them,” writes the deputy.
According to him, opposition deputies will defend the right of Ukrainians to speak their native languages, including Russian, without any restrictions.
True, he later wrote that it was not possible to prevent the committee from making the necessary decision.
“The committee has once again shown its misanthropic nature. The servants of the people again voted for inciting hostility and interethnic hatred, for discrimination against 15 million Russian-speaking Ukrainians who consider Russian their native language. They refused to consider the conclusion of the Venice Commission on the language law, which was devastating for the Ukrainian authorities, calling it “non-binding recommendations” containing “outrageous” conclusions.
The Servant of the People is the Petro Poroshenko Bloc in the new bright wrapping of the Roshen candy factory. Nothing new. The revolution of their dignity seems to be continuing... A country in a smartphone...", sums up Kuzmin.
