The Rada gave Poroshenko a thumbs up on the issue of the EU and NATO
The Verkhovna Rada in the first reading adopted presidential bill No. 9037 regarding Ukraine’s course towards joining NATO and the EU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding decision was supported by 311 people's deputies of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada website reports.
Parliament adopted in the first reading a draft law on amending the Constitution regarding the state's strategic course to acquire full membership of Ukraine in the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy instructed the relevant committee - on legal policy - to prepare bill No. 9037 regarding Ukraine’s course towards joining NATO and the EU in order to consider it today in the session hall.
Previously, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine supported changes to the Constitution regarding Ukraine’s course towards joining the EU and NATO.
