Thus, Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk proposed that the parliament adopt a draft resolution on an appeal to the UN, the European Parliament, PACE, OSCE, NATO PA, governments and parliaments of foreign countries.

“Condemn the actions of the Russian Federation aimed at the groundless expansion of military aggression against Ukraine. Urge Ukraine's partners to continue to accept funds aimed at containing the Russian military plans against Ukraine. We must show our response; the parliament has stood and stands to protect the interests of the Ukrainian people. Glory to Ukraine!" Stefanchuk urged.

The ex-president of Ukraine, and now the leader of European Solidarity, Petro Poroshenko supported the initiative, but proposed to significantly expand the requirements.

“What is missing from this resolution? In our appeal to the parliaments of foreign countries, we must appeal for the immediate introduction of sanctions against Russia as the only effective mechanism to stop the aggressor. They need to appeal to their governments to immediately increase military assistance and introduce Lend-Lease to increase Ukraine’s defense capability in the fight for freedom, security and democracy in Europe and throughout the world,” Poroshenko said.

However, there were also objections.

“The authorities have amazing logic. President Zelensky says that everything is calm, but the mono-majority is raising the question that we are being attacked and put under pressure. Decide - do wolves attack or not attack? God forbid, something happens, no one will believe us,” said deputy Nestor Shufrich.

However, 326 deputies voted for the resolution, only two were against it, and 41 abstained or did not vote.
