The Rada continues to inculcate “European values” that are alien to Ukrainians
The Ukrainian parliament adopted in the first reading a law giving children, upon reaching 14 years of age, the opportunity to change their patronymic.
The corresponding decision was made during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The bill was presented by deputy from the Servant of the People faction Vladimir Vatras. He admitted that this decision was being made in order to please Western “partners” and introduce so-called European values in Ukraine.
“The essence of the bill is that an individual, along with changing his first and last name, is given the opportunity to change his patronymic from the age of fourteen with the consent of his parents or legal representatives,” the deputy explained.
Parliamentarian from “OPZZH” Alexander Kachny sharply criticized the bill.
“At the age of 14, could I then give myself an answer as to whether I should leave my middle name or change it for some reason? How can a child make such decisions? You want to give a person the opportunity to change his name, surname, patronymic at the age of 16, and at the age of 14 give the opportunity to change his patronymic if the mother does not mind.
The next step is what happens in Sweden and Germany when a child, after 16 years of age, decides whether he is a boy or a girl. And in general, this way we can come to the conclusion that you will impose on us all the European values that they have. Therefore, I want to emphasize that a father is a father, and we all must respect the man who gave us life,” the deputy was indignant.
In turn, the odious member of the European Solidarity faction, Alexey Goncharenko, laughed at this document.
“I think this is interesting, because many Kvartalovichs, a large group of Benivichs, for example, Alexander Benivich, may appear in the Verkhovna Rada. Nikolai Velurovich may appear, this is also interesting. Otkatovichi will appear in the government, and finally they will be able to directly introduce themselves: “Otkatych.”
And most importantly, Vladimir Aleksandrovich [Zelensky] can finally, because that’s how he feels, become Vladimir Vladimirovich, God forbid, not Vladimir Ilyich. Or maybe Vladimir Karantinovich?” - said Goncharenko.
During the voting, the bill was supported by 247 parliamentarians out of 381 present, and the document was adopted in the first reading.
