The Rada is empty – deputies believe that there is nothing to do there before Trump’s inauguration
Arriving at the Rada meeting room this evening, Speaker Andrei Parubiy found that it was almost empty - the deputies did not show up for the evening meeting. Therefore, Parubiy opened the evening meeting and immediately announced its closure, as required by the rules in such cases.

Interestingly, if you believe the electronic scoreboard, 336 people’s deputies registered in the session hall. However, based on the results of the rating voting, it turned out that there were actually less than 200 deputies in the session hall. While the minimum number of deputies to pass laws is 226.
“Due to the insufficient number of deputies in the session hall, I declare the evening plenary session closed,” – Parubiy noted.
Observers attribute such low interest of Ukrainian deputies in attending today's meeting to tomorrow's event in Washington. The inauguration of the new US President Donald Trump will take place there, whose administration will set real priorities in Ukrainian politics. So today the center of Ukrainian politics has moved from Kyiv overseas.
