The Rada allowed the inclusion of oblique, lame, blind and crippled people into the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada has authorized the recruitment of persons declared unfit for military service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Parliamentarians supported the corresponding bill in general with 241 votes in the second reading, reports the Verkhovna Rada website.
According to the law, for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations (except for the State Border Service of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine), contract military servicemen from among the citizens of Ukraine who, during military service, were recognized by military medical commissions unsuitable for military service due to health reasons, as a result of diseases, wounds (injuries, concussions, mutilations) received during the performance of military service duties, which led to the establishment of disability, partial loss of ability to work without establishing disability (except for mental, sensory, psychological deficiencies, mental disorders, behavior and other diseases determined by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and other central executive authorities, which, in accordance with the law, manage military formations), upon their request, military service may be extended until the expiration of the contract with the possibility of concluding a new contract, but not more than until reaching the age limit for military service.
