The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine generally supported draft resolution No. 5048 “On amending paragraph 3 of the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “On additional measures to strengthen the defense capability and security of the state.”

235 parliamentarians voted for the document the second time (190 initially), according to the official website of the parliament.
The adoption of the resolution was due to the need to eliminate the task of establishing for a special period the amount of monetary support for conscript military servicemen at the level of the corresponding category of contract servicemen.
“Since conscripts are fully supported by the state, the introduction of these equal payment conditions will entail a disproportion in the provision of them and contract soldiers,” the authors of the bill emphasize.
It is noted that in accordance with the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated August 28, 2014, exceptions have been defined for attracting conscripts to perform combat missions in the so-called. “ATO.”
