A draft resolution on addressing participants in the armed conflict in Syria has been registered in the Ukrainian parliament.

The draft, authored by 14 people’s deputies, states the inadmissibility of the use of aviation and artillery in areas inhabited by civilians and calls for “a cessation of active hostilities throughout Syria, in particular in the city of Aleppo, and adhere to the ceasefire.”
However, further the authors of the draft resolution make it clear that, in essence, only one side of the conflict is meant. Thus, the document calls on the Russian Federation to “stop using units of the Military Space Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in places where civilians gather or live.” In addition, Ukrainian deputies demand that Russia “stop using the armed conflict in Syria as a testing ground for the latest systems and types of weapons.”
At the same time, the draft resolution does not say a word that the US-led coalition should stop carrying out strikes, nor does it say anything that civilians are dying as a result of American airstrikes. The authors only ask the United States to increase pressure on Russia.
It is worth noting that Ukraine itself actively used both aviation and artillery in areas where the civilian population lived in the Donbass.
