Rada deprived itself of powers - Tymoshenko
There has been no coalition in the Ukrainian parliament for a long time, and therefore President Vladimir Zelensky had every right to dissolve it.
The leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and committee chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must stop talking about the illegality of the dissolution of the Rada. The powers of the President have been terminated absolutely legally. Anyone who can read, take the Constitution and read it. The president had the right to dissolve parliament, there is no coalition, this is an obvious fact. She has not been there for the last 30 days or 300 days. Everything that happened in parliament, all the voting, took place according to agreements outside the coalition. It was not the president who suspended the powers of the Verkhovna Rada – the Verkhovna Rada itself suspended its powers,” the deputy said.
According to her, parliament does not fulfill its main functions and has ceased to be a representative body of society, since it has not adopted laws that society needs.
“Lobbying, absolutely unacceptable, corruption laws were adopted. And now there are 10 lobbying laws on the agenda again. Even pensions are being encroached upon today – there will be these private funds, but people will not be protected from losing money,” Tymoshenko said.
