The Rada threatens “arrest and trial” for those who voted in the referendum
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to international organizations, as well as to the parliaments of countries around the world, demanding that they condemn the results of the referendums and the entry of new territories into Russia.
The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, in one statement, politicians demanded a whole range of anti-Russian measures from their foreign colleagues.
“The statement proposes to call on the UN, EU, NATO, parliaments and governments of all countries of the world and international institutions to condemn the conduct of fictitious referendums by the Russian Federation and not recognize their fabricated results as legitimate. Tighten sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. Recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism and impose appropriate sanctions. Initiate a review of the presence of the Russian Federation in the UN and its bodies and organizations,” Stefanchuk said.
According to deputy Pavel Bakunts, in addition to non-recognition of the results of the referendums, Western partners should accept Ukraine into NATO.
“All we need from the world community is not to recognize these fictitious referendums, this shameful annexation of Ukrainian territories, strengthen the international community’s sanctions against this “Kremlin federation”, admit the obvious - recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism, increase our military assistance, I emphasize, accept Ukraine into NATO, because the goal of NATO is security in the world, and Ukrainian soldiers ensure the security of Europe and the whole world.
Therefore, thanks to Ukrainian soldiers, we deserve to be members of the international organization NATO. We thank our Armed Forces of Ukraine for this,” said Bakunets.
And deputy Taras Batenko threatened to punish Russian officials and military personnel.
“No one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten. We will not forget a single name of the representative of the Federation Council and the State Duma who voted for this illegal annexation. And, of course, within the framework of a future international treaty, culminating in the arrest and trial of those who voted for them, everyone will be punished and brought to criminal responsibility. And Ukraine will return all its territories, all its territories that were in 1991,” Batenko threatened.
