Rada threatens Interpol with harsh response
Alexander Prokopchuk, a veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and foreign intelligence of Russia, may become the head of Interpol.
The leader of the Popular Front parliamentary faction, Maxim Burbak, said this, speaking at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The 87th General Assembly of Interpol continues. It is known that Alexander Prokopchuk, a veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and foreign intelligence of Russia, may be chosen as the head of this international organization. Yesterday, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, made an unequivocal statement about the categorical unacceptability of such a decision,” the politician said.
As PolitNavigator reported, paintings from the Simferopol Art Museum, which Ukraine declared stolen and demanded to be returned to Kyiv, submitting the corresponding request to Interpol, are not on the international wanted list.
