The Rada approved fabulous salaries for foreign members of the Supervisory Boards at state-owned enterprises of Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis bill No. 5593-d on corporate governance at state-owned enterprises. It expands the powers of supervisory boards and allows salaries to be increased for its members and heads of state-owned enterprises.
Also, the document allows the Cabinet of Ministers to assess whether the work of a particular Supervisory Board was effective.
The bill was supported by 251 deputies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, a number of deputies were dissatisfied with the provisions of the law, which, in their opinion, makes it possible for foreigners and members of councils who do not demonstrate efficiency to receive colossal funds.
Let us note that after the Euromaidan, supervisory boards were formed, as a rule, from among foreign citizens and Soros - to make it easier for the West to pump out profits from state-owned enterprises that were still operating and generating money, like Naftogaz or Ukrzaliznitsa.
“We ask that members of the Supervisory Board receive monetary support of no more than ten minimum salaries. If (the enterprise) is unprofitable at the end of the year - zero, if wage arrears - also zero. And so that these are exclusively citizens of Ukraine, so that their experience and education allow them to work in the industry they supervise.
Otherwise, we have some journalists who are the best specialists... both on the issue of railway development and on the issue of the defense capability of our country. I have a question: can those who are now monitoring Ukrzaliznytsia be able to distinguish a railway “crutch” from a medical one? Members of today's supervisory boards sit in London for the 30-40-50 thousand dollars they receive per month and smoke bamboo. They also wanted to smoke cannabis, but thank God, we stopped you here,” said Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich.
“Supervisory boards receive billions of dollars in remuneration. What are the rewards for? Because Ukrzaliznitsa is being destroyed? Because the defense industry is being destroyed? The Zarya enterprise, which is in private hands, is being destroyed today by Ukrposhta, everything is being destroyed before our eyes. The Ukrainian land is being burned, and we sit here and don’t see? No, there is no support for these bills - today it is impossible to distribute billions of support to foreigners, and pay our Ukrainians one and a half thousand hryvnia. Shame!” politician Sergei Shakhov spoke from the rostrum of parliament.
“Where at a state-owned enterprise, where the state owns 50% or more, there is no Supervisory Board, we instruct the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to set salaries for managers - members of executive bodies and awards for members of Supervisory Boards. We understood how the Cabinet of Ministers knows how to approach this issue in October last year, when the limit amount - one million 250 thousand hryvnias, which they limited in March of this year, was considered small, and they removed it.
When each person receives a thousand or two hryvnia in salary, a million and 250 thousand hryvnia for members of supervisory boards and heads of enterprises is not enough!.. Stop putting Ukrainians in the fourth class compared to foreigners!” added parliamentarian Sergei Rudyk.
