For the sake of Kobzon, they want to change legislation in Ukraine
Ukrainian legislation allows deprivation of the title of People's Artist of Ukraine only in the event of a court verdict for committing a serious crime, which does not make it possible to take away this title from Joseph Kobzon, Taisiya Povaliy, Ani Lorak, Nikolai Baskov, whom Kiev propaganda considers anti-Ukrainian figures, writes the online publication “ Apostrophe".

The publication reports that an attempt to create a precedent back in 2015 was made by People's Deputy Ivan Melnichuk, who wrote a bill that provided for depriving the above-mentioned artists of the title of People's Artists of Ukraine, two of whom were citizens of Ukraine.
“Scoundrels need to be deprived of this title, that’s all. I then wanted to set a precedent: to introduce a bill into the hall, and I am sure that the hall would support it. Just like we made the decision to deprive Yanukovych of his presidential powers,” said the author of the document.
However, the bill did not reach the consideration of the parliament, and the main scientific and expert department of the Verkhovna Rada in its conclusions emphasized that such issues should be decided by the president, whose recommendations are given by the Commission of State Awards and Heraldry created under him.
Tatiana Rychkova, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the BPP and a member of this commission, proposes to change the legislation in order to take away titles from unwanted artists.
“The procedure there is written out in such a way that it is almost impossible to revoke a title. We have repeatedly raised this issue at the commission meeting, but we are still looking for answers, and I think we will change the procedure at the legislative level. Specialists in the expert council under the commission are now working on this,” Rychkova said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Kobzon was happy to be deprived of his title honorary citizen of Poltava.
