For the sake of Shukhevych, the new Rada will violate the Constitution at its first meeting

The Basic Law stipulates that the session of the new parliament must be opened by the oldest deputy.
Initially, the nationalist majority expected that the head of the UNA-UNSO, Yuri Shukhevych, the son of the UPA commander, would be the first to read the oath.
However, it turned out that the “regional” Efim Zvyagilsky, who is a month older than Shukhevych, was elected to parliament.
However, the nationalists categorically refused to give the floor to the “regional” first, considering this a betrayal of the results of the revolution. As a result, it was decided that at the beginning of the session, contrary to the requirements of the Constitution, deputies would take the oath in chorus.
“Shukhevych is truly a legendary person, and it would be very nice if after the revolution it was Shukhevych who opened this Verkhovna Rada. As for Zvyagilsky, I think such an exception can be made because the person who was elected by one and a half thousand workers of his mine is nonsense. I think Zvyagilsky could give way to Shukhevych. If he opened the Rada, it would be cool, and in the face of those enemies who hate Bandera and Shukhevych,” said newly elected Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Linko from the “Radical Party.”
