“Radical” Lyashko makes excuses for why he didn’t fight back the deputy who hit him
Kyiv, August 19 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Lyashko said that he did not fight back to deputy Alexander Shevchenko, who hit him on the sidelines of parliament, because as a child he read books instead of boxing lessons.

“Thank God, the jaw is intact. I did an MRI - there is no brain damage,” Lyashko first reassured his fans on air on the ICTV channel.
“People ask me: why didn’t I fight back? I'll tell you frankly. You know, at the boarding school where I studied in the Chernigov region, we did not have a boxing section. I read books at school, I read the entire school library and the district library. The Lord gave me other talents - to speak the word, to convince people, and not to wave my fists. This is not my profession.
If you look at him and me: I weigh 71 kg, and he weighs 120-130. If he is such a hero, a fighter, go hit Klitschko - someone who is in your category. If you want to compete with me, let's compete in a verbal duel, and try to win against me here. And to wave your fists, seeing that the person will not fight back...”, the “radical” argues.
Lyashko also advocated that deputies who provoke fights with colleagues should be stripped of their powers.
