According to the head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Vinnytsia region, Igor Morenets, Pavlenko has already been declared a suspect under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Hooliganism”, confrontations and investigative actions are now being carried out, and the court is deciding on the choice of a preventive measure.
Yuri Pavlenko's lawyer Valery Paliy said that no one was allowed to see the suspect.
“I have a contract with Yuri since 2011. He has the right to declare me as his defender during any case. Now a lawyer, to which he has every right, is not allowed to see him, since I must be interrogated as a witness to the events that happened on Saturday,” the publication quotes the lawyer "Information Vinnytsia".
The leader of the public organization “Student Freedom” Andrei Vigonyuk said that they are walking around the city center in uniform and looking for another “activist and participant in Saturday’s events, Yuri-Yanuariy Shostak.”
