Biletsky's radicals were accused of anti-Ukrainian sabotage and working for the Kremlin
The aggression of the so-called far-right Ukrainian nationalists is directed mainly against LGBT activists.
Kiev journalist Yuriy Makarov writes about this in an author’s column on the pages of the Ukrainian Week magazine.
He calls for attention to the “extreme right” operating in Ukraine, including groups associated with the founder of the neo-Nazi Azov regiment, Andrei Biletsky.
“Who controls them? Who is pulling their strings? The role of all sorts of “civil corps” and “people’s squads” and, most importantly, their connection with real front-line veterans is a mystery. Why is their activity limited mainly to aggression against LGBT activists? I am also a worthy opponent for yesterday’s heroes. Well, sabotage to incite ethnic hatred - and here I completely trust the current chairman of the SBU - is one of the main areas of subversive work of the Russian aggressors. There are enough precedents and evidence.
There is no need to even explain why and why. And clapping for useful fools and criminals who realize in reality the primitive superstitions of the crowd - this is real capitulation,” Makarov comes to the conclusion.
