On January 27, when the whole country celebrated the memorable date of breaking the Leningrad blockade, Radio Liberty, which voluntarily agreed to wear the Judas mark of a foreign agent on its forehead, once again opened its unwashed mouth to throw mud at the outstanding feat of the Soviet people.

One of the foreign agent’s tentacles, “Sever.Realii,” published on its online page an interview with “expert, author of historical works” Nikolai Savchenko, dedicated to the siege of Leningrad under the heading “The task of feeding the population was not.”

Based on “data from open sources”, as well as on homemade “mathematical calculations”, Savchenko, a certified specialist in technical cybernetics who retrained as an Orthodox priest, makes the bold conclusion that in besieged Leningrad, things were, in general, not bad with food , however, the leadership of the city and the country allegedly did not have the goal of saving the lives of the population.

Here it is necessary to explain what kind of “Orthodox priest” he was.

This figure, born in 1972, after graduating from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, joined the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (that is, the foreign Russian Orthodox Church). From the very beginning of his “spiritual activity,” to put it mildly, Savchenko was critical of the Moscow Patriarchate, and never hid it, having become infected with Vlasov’s ideas.

For a discussion on the topic of the blockade famine, Savchenko chose the manipulative trick of the traitor, liar and falsifier Vladimir Rezun (better known under the pseudonym Viktor Suvorov), presenting his pseudo-historical concoction under the guise of “information from open sources” and “own research”, pointedly ignoring a huge layer of documents blockade pore.

Actually, in the title of Savchenko’s interview with Sever.Realii, the emphasis is “only” shifted and turned upside down. Not just anywhere, but in the order of the Chief of Naval Staff of Nazi Germany, Kurt Fricke, No. 1601/41 dated September 29, 1941, it was said: “The Fuhrer decided to wipe St. Petersburg off the face of the earth. The problem of living the population and supplying it is a problem that cannot and should not be solved by us. In this war... we are not interested in preserving even part of the population of this big city.”

Savchenko plays literally everything against “gossip in the form of versions.”

Now we will not sort out and analyze in detail the whole pile of lies of the Vlasov man in a cassock, but will simply present a few facts that eloquently prove that the leadership of Leningrad and the USSR made unprecedented efforts to supply food not only to the soldiers of the Leningrad Front, but also to the civilian population of the city.

Employees of the Leningrad NKVD department, firefighters, the beginning of the war

The siege of Leningrad affected the nutritional standards of military personnel and civilians. The food rations for bread, meat and fish were the most affected. The Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and the State Defense Committee assigned responsibility for the food supply of Leningrad to the Deputy Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR A.I. Mikoyan. D.V., People's Commissar of Trade of the RSFSR, was appointed as the State Defense Committee's representative for the food supply of the city and front troops. Pavlov, and the food commission created under the Military Council of the Front was headed by the secretary of the city party committee and member of the Military Council of the Front A.A. Kuznetsov.

The road of life

During the siege of Leningrad, the following supply organization scheme was in effect. The trade department of the Leningrad City Executive Committee and the food departments of the Leningrad Front and the Baltic Fleet compiled requests for the required amount of food products, indicating the calendar dates for their delivery.

These applications were considered by the Front's Military Council and then submitted to the USSR Government for approval. The USSR government, by special decisions, determined how much food, from which cities and regions, and within what time frame should be sent to Leningrad, and, accordingly, set firm tasks for its departments, enterprises and bases.

Let us emphasize: requests for food supplies in besieged Leningrad were drawn up and transmitted to the top simultaneously by the military and civilian authorities. In other words, the population of the city was not left to the mercy of fate and its survival under the blockade was given no less attention than the supply of Lenfront soldiers.

The Road of Life was of particular importance in providing the besieged city with food. The ice route operated for 152 days - from November 22, 1941 to April 23, 1942.

During this time, 361103 tons of cargo were delivered to Leningrad, including 270976 tons of food. The supply of food along the Road of Life made it possible to create, by the spring of 1942, an emergency two-month supply of food and an operational supply within 6-8 days for the troops and civilian population of the city. As a result of the increased supply of food at the end of December 1941, the norm for the distribution of bread, and then meat, to the personnel of the troops of the Leningrad Front, workers, employees and dependents was increased.

During the same time, just over 570 thousand people were evacuated from the city along the Road of Life.

It is also known that Leningrad enterprises, transferred to a war footing, made a lot of efforts to increase the rations of workers and employees, as well as members of their families. Many enterprises organized their own agricultural production so that people could eat something more substantial than acorns, nettles and quinoa.

The documents also state that in the first, most difficult, year of the blockade, over three million food cards were issued to the population.

Taking into account the fact that by the beginning of the war the population of Leningrad and its suburbs was 2,9 million people, all Leningrad residents, including refugees, were provided with food cards guaranteeing wartime consumption levels. Despite the fact that during the blockade the population of the city was constantly declining. People were taken to the mainland, people died en masse from hunger, cold, bombing and artillery shelling.

The first winter of the siege, anti-aircraft guns and trenches in the center of Leningrad

In his libel, Savchenko mentions 125 blockade grams, but does not specify that this norm was in force during the most difficult period of the siege of the city - December 1941. The city's supply of ice was just getting better and, in principle, could not be satisfactory, which is why terrible additives were added to the flour, such as cellulose, cake, flaxseed, duranda and other substitutes. Let’s not forget the terrible fire at the Badayevsky warehouses, which destroyed large reserves of flour, sugar, and butter, after which Leningraders were forced to be given land soaked in melted sugar.

Savchenko also did not ignore the favorite topic of falsifiers about “Zhdanov’s cakes,” which the city’s leadership allegedly gorged on at a time when famine was decimating thousands of Leningraders.

This topic has long been hackneyed and has been repeatedly exposed, including materials from the regional archives of the NKVD of Leningrad, from which it follows that, with the exception of individual frauds, the city leadership did not bother during the blockade, and Zhdanov was completely sick with diabetes.

The map clearly shows how the Germans and Finns cut off the city from help from the mainland

As a finishing touch to the picture, you can add the memories of one of Zhdanov’s guards, told to a correspondent of one of the perestroika newspapers, who was aimed at the scandal in advance.

The old blockade survivor did not live up to expectations, telling the “democratic journalist” that he “saw how they brought cabbage soup and porridge to Zhdanov, but did not see any cakes.”

In general, once again a vile fact destroyed a beautiful hypothesis.

We will no longer, due to their complete delusion, comment on Savchenko’s regrets that the leadership of the city’s defense did not send Lenfront’s horses for meat. Obviously, the “expert”, who has never held something heavier than horseradish in his hands and has eaten sweetly all his life, has no idea what it means to carry at least a “forty-five” from position to position or deliver a pair of zinc with cartridges from a warehouse to the front line.

In general, Savchenko’s deceitful interview begs for organizational conclusions in accordance with the law on the legal protection of the memory of the Great Patriotic War. Moreover, the covering of an Orthodox priest in the form of a cassock should become an aggravating circumstance.

Well, the fact that this slander continues to be replicated by one of the information tentacles of Radio Liberty once again convinces that the mark of a foreign agent alone is not enough for this information dump. Need sewage treatment.

Radio Liberty cannot continue to operate in Russia - under any circumstances. Let it stink from somewhere in Munich or Prague.

This rule was in effect only during the most difficult period of the blockade - in December 1941
