Radioactive Chernobyl fish continues to arrive at Kyiv markets
In the Kyiv region, a local resident appeared in court for giving a bribe to the prosecutor of the Chernobyl department of the Brovary prosecutor’s office so that the latter would turn a blind eye to fishing in reservoirs located in the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, сообщается in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

Unlawful benefits were offered on a systematic basis in the amount of 50 thousand hryvnia per month.
The prosecutor pretended to be honest and handed the fisherman-stalker into the hands of the police. The bribe-giver himself did not remain silent at the trial and told everyone present about how the prosecutor’s office and police systematically imposed tribute on him for catching and selling Chernobyl fish.
The court sentenced him to 4 years in prison and took him into custody right in the courtroom.
Behind the bravura reports regarding the fight against corruption and praise to honest prosecutors, a huge and, unfortunately, not even established number of people who purchased and continue to purchase fresh fish in the markets of the Kyiv region without having a Geiger counter was left out.
