“Crimeans have a lack of information about how to live in Russia, how the laws work in it, and this leads to unnecessary fear and apprehension,” said "RG" about the tasks of the radio station, the head of the regional division of “Russia Today” in Simferopol, Vadim Volchenko. “Our listeners will regularly receive information about the difficulties of the transition period, immersion in the legal environment of the Russian Federation, building relationships between business entities, the nuances of the tax and cadastral system, real estate registration, problems of entrepreneurs who do not know what and how to register, in what time frame.” .

According to Volchenko, “Russia Today” broadcasts on the basis of the largest Trans-M-Radio network, whose frequency resource covers 90% of the territory of Crimea. Employees were hired, the news editorial office and news editors were trained in Moscow. In Simferopol, according to him, a multimedia center and a press room with the possibility of communication with Moscow studios and studios around the world are being built. The media hub will be located in the city center, where there will also be a studio and office.

“At the moment we have a tab on the Crimea Today website on the flagship website of RIA Novosti. We prepare content ourselves. Internet broadcasting will be launched on the site in the near future. And then everything is transformed into an independent Internet resource,” says Volchenko.

“The broadcast consists of operational news from Crimea and Sevastopol, information programs, interviews with experts on the most important topics of interest to our audience, special projects about the life of the peninsula, as well as the content of the new product of MIA “Russia Today” radio Sputnik,” says Volchenko.

According to him, the radio station’s program is now a compilation of international programs from the Russian-language edition of Sputnik and local broadcasting. Now broadcasting is a little over five hours in prime time. Soon there will be six, then eight, and eventually 24-hour broadcasting. The format will include not only informational, but also music programs, information content from Moscow, and news from other countries.

Volchenko does not yet see any competitors for Rossiya Segodnya in conversational format in Crimea.
