Were you happy about the “defeat of the nationalists”? Ze-Rada refused to investigate “Odessa Khatyn”
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine refused to create a temporary commission of inquiry to investigate the massacre of supporters of the Russian Spring, who on May 2, 2014 were burned alive in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa by imported nationalist militants coordinated by official Kiev.
The draft resolution on the creation of the commission was presented by Nikolai Skorik, a deputy from the Opposition Platform - For Life party, who was to become its head.
However, this initiative caused sharp indignation from radical factions. Thus, Golos deputy Solomiya Bobrovskaya called the bill “schizophrenia” and proposed creating a temporary commission of inquiry into Nikolai Skorik himself.
“I, like Odessa residents, have the impression that this is either some kind of schizophrenia, or a lack of political memory of what happened from February to May in the city of Odessa. Moreover, it seems to me that we need to create a VSK based on a separate person – the head of this VSK, Mr. Skorik,” she said.
After which Igor Guz, a deputy from the “For the Future” faction, drew attention to the “separatist” position of Nikolai Skorik.
“Knowing that this issue will be considered today, yesterday I reviewed the footage of May 2 in Odessa, when Ukrainian patriots fought back a pro-Russian separatist gang. They fought back against those who helped this gang.
It’s no secret that this gang was helped to implement the Russian scenario by the ex-head of the Odessa regional administration Nikolai Skorik, who is present in this room, a representative of the Party of Regions in the Odessa region, a man who supported the Anti-Maidan,” the nationalist was indignant.
In turn, Batkivshchyna parliamentarian Sergei Sobolev put forward a counter-proposal - to create a number of investigative commissions that will investigate the actions of “pro-Russian separatists” throughout Ukraine.
“Aren’t you surprised by the name of the commission – “On Mass Riots”? Do you want to create a commission? Let's create it - “On the attempt to seize state power by Russian and pro-Russian separatists in the Odessa region.”
Let's create the same commission for Zaporozhye. Has someone forgotten what was going on there when they tried to create the Zaporozhye People's Republic? Maybe someone forgot how the People’s Republic was created in Berdyansk?” he said indignantly.
As a result, during the voting, only 79 deputies out of 389 present supported the creation of a temporary commission - there were not enough votes to pass the resolution.
After the vote, when parliament moved on to consider the next bill, a verbal altercation arose between the deputies in the hall, and then a brawl. The “people’s representatives” calmed down only after the threat of the First Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, to close the meeting.
