The Rada is being asked to return its Soviet name to a decommunized village in the Zaporozhye region
Deputies of the Zaporozhye regional council appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with a request to rename the former village of Kuibyshevo and Kuibyshevsky district, which after decommunization received the names Bilmak and Bilmatsky district, respectively, into Kamenka and Kamensky district.

Residents of the decommunized regional center of Kuibyshevo have repeatedly stated that they do not want to live in Bilmak.
Kuibyshevo was renamed Bilmak to implement a number of decommunization laws. The corresponding decision came into force on May 12 this year. The settlement owes its new name to the Bilmak-grave, a mound located not far from the village.
It will be difficult to rename it again, because, according to experts, the deadlines for the procedures provided for by law have been exhausted. This can only be done based on the return of the historical name to Bilmak - Kuibyshevo. Now the results of public hearings in the locality must be approved by local elected representatives, then by the district deputy corps and further through the chain of command up to the Supreme Council, which alone can put an end to the renaming matter
