This was reported by Polish Radio.
The nine-meter “Rainbow of Tolerance” was installed in Brussels in 2012 in honor of Poland’s presidency of the European Union. That same year it was moved to Savior Square in Warsaw, where it became a symbol of tolerance.
The installation was burned seven times over the three years that it stood on the square, the last time this happened in December.
City authorities, who previously supported the project, did not renew the contract for the placement of the monument, which expires in December. The piece of art is now owned by the Center for Contemporary Art.
The Catholic Church has consistently opposed the placement of such an installation in Warsaw.
