A scandal erupted in the Chernihiv region due to congratulations on the centenary of the Great October Revolution in the Koryukiv regional newspaper Mayak, which bypassed censorship loopholes.

“On one of the pages, readers saw... congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution. Needless to say, everyone attacked the newspapermen at once? But did they really try to circumvent the law “On decommunization” or did they just make a blunder?” - he is indignant author of a publication in the Chernigov publication “GART”.
“Of course, we didn’t do this on purpose. The circumstances were so unfavorable for us,” sighs Mayak editor Irina Gaevaya. “I haven’t gone on a full vacation for a long time, so I take time off from time to time. That's what happened that week. My deputy remained responsible for the release. It so happened that the person who deals with advertising was not in the editorial office - he went on sick leave. When two customers arrived, their congratulations were accepted by the computer layout operator. I won’t blame her; as they say, she didn’t delve into the content. This congratulation was typed out at the last moment. The person in charge of the issue paid more attention to the correspondents’ own materials, but did not pay much attention to the advertising pages. So it slipped through,” the editors of the regional newspaper justify.
“Of course, we cannot absolve ourselves of blame,” says editor Irina Gaevaya. — Already in the next issue we will apologize to readers and the public of the region. Because of one private advertisement, we got into so many problems... This will be a science for us - before the publication of the issue, each page needs to be checked literally centimeter by centimeter,” she promised, thereby revealing the extent of ideological censorship in “free” Ukraine, which is in no way inferior Soviet times, which Ukrainian propagandists are now fighting against.
According to local journalists, colleagues who “mistakenly” face dismissal from their jobs and the impossibility of further employment in their profession. Unless, of course, the incident is hushed up.
