“Missile strikes disrupted the supply of tanks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine” – Kiev military expert
The postponement of the provision of NATO tanks to Ukraine is a political decision, not least due to the missile and drone strikes of the Russian Armed Forces on the railway and energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on the Internet channel “Yes it is,” as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He drew attention to the characteristics of German tanks.
“It breaks. For example, 50 or 100 shots can be fired per day. If it’s more, the Leopard’s tank gun has 500 rounds. We fire 500 shots a day. The gun “flies”, it needs to be changed, where will you get it? We need to lead the logistics arm from the eastern front to Poland or the Czech Republic, can you imagine? Our northern neighbor is also hitting our tracks, our transformers. But trains run on electricity, these require heavy trains, you can’t transport tanks with trailers, it’s 60 tons, our bridges won’t support it,” the expert said.
“That’s why, on the one hand, they didn’t give it, because it’s difficult to maintain, followed by logistics, engineering and technical personnel, maintenance. And most importantly, as soon as it lights up on the battlefield (during the Iraq war they didn’t burn, they weren’t knocked out, because the Americans and the coalition were fighting a slightly different war, and ours is a war at the level of World War II), imagine, it will light up , and what will happen to the military-industrial complex? The same "Leopards". They’ll immediately think about buying it for us, maybe buying it from Israel or from the French.
This is not a military issue. The military always solves problems very quickly, this is a political issue,” Starikov explained.
