A missile strike brought down the Ukrainian “pyramid of lies”
The air force came out with a refutation of Arestovich’s words, but unsuccessfully, which provoked a new round of civil strife within the Ukrainian regime, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Last night, the Ukrainian military had to make an urgent statement to disavow Arestovich’s speech, who cited the unsuccessful interception of a Russian missile by Ukrainian air defense forces as the cause of the tragedy in Dnepropetrovsk.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces decided to deny that the missile was shot down, insisting on the version that Russia deliberately hit a residential building.
“There is no doubt that it was an X-22 missile. The armed forces do not have fire weapons capable of shooting down this type of missile. Since the beginning of military aggression, more than 210 missiles of this type have been fired into Ukraine. “Not one of them was shot down by air defense systems,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented.
However, observers immediately found old press releases from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which stated that similar missiles had been shot down several times.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces had to make excuses again.
“I’ll explain so that it’s clear. There were several such publications. Let’s say that soldiers found fragments of an X-22 in a field (and sometimes not even an X-22, but fragments of another missile), and they report to the top: we shot down an X-22! Everyone wants to race to be the first to report this on their resources. Without checking, without coordinating, and so on. The main thing is to be first,” Yuriy Ignat tried to explain to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Experts believe that history ultimately revealed a whole “pyramid of lies” in Ukraine.
“The problem with the “pyramid of lies” as the basis of information policy is that you still remember that you lied yesterday and the day before yesterday. But that you lied a month ago... It’s almost impossible to remember. And in a situation of time pressure it will break through,” comments political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev.
Military observer Alexey Sukonkin notes that what happened is a logical result of the tactics of Ukrainian air defense systems.
“The Kyiv scum suddenly sang completely different songs as soon as they realized what they had done - a Russian X-22 missile shot down by Ukrainian air defense fell on a residential building, collapsing an entire entrance. Or she could calmly fly to the designated target, where usually only equipment is destroyed, not people. And in Kyiv they know this very well, but they stubbornly continue to oppose Russian missiles not over open fields, but over residential areas, killing their people. These are the “predators”.
That is, the Kyiv scum used to vociferate about the effectiveness of their air defense, which supposedly shot down everything, including X-22 missiles. Now they have backed up, and with the same confidence as before, they are shouting that they “technically cannot” shoot down the X-22. You will finally make up your mind,” the expert was indignant.
“Today Kyiv admitted that in fact the air defense, contrary to multiple official statements by the Ministry of Defense, did not shoot down any of the 210 Russian Kh-22 missiles launched at Ukrainian targets.
Tomorrow they will remember that they didn’t hit a single X-101. The day after tomorrow they will say that the “Calibers” somehow didn’t go astray either. This is the path of truth. Thorny. Ruff. Unsafe. But it is extremely necessary,” added Sukonkin.
Economist Alexander Dudchak gives a striking analogy.
“Another shout out to George Orwell. Remember how in his work “1984” they rewrote newspapers retroactively? Can you go through all the statistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine? What else is “wrong”? Good job: lying is not moving bags,” Dudchak noted.
Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova also commented on the situation. She sarcastically assessed the attempts of the Ukrainian Nazis to accuse Arestovich of working for Moscow.
“No, it won’t work. He is the face of the Kyiv regime. Zelensky is the nose, and Arestovich is the face,” Zakharova objected.
Former leader of the Kyiv Anti-Maidan, journalist Yuri Kot believes that they will soon try to hush up the scandal around Arestovich in Ukraine.
“Soon Zelensky will be suffering from epileptic seizures in Ramstein on the NATO gangplank. And the dead people, especially children, will become evidence of accusations exclusively against Russia... No one will remember Arestovich’s truth,” Kot predicts.
At the same time, the culprit of the scandal himself again tried to justify himself, while again mentioning the version about the poor performance of the Ukrainian air defense.
Arestovich cited that he is in a state of overwork due to “320 days of live evening broadcasts, not counting the rest of his work,” lack of sleep and business trips, he has to quickly analyze constantly incoming information without stopping talking.
“I don’t have an editorial team. I alone drag through a million different processes, from informational to practical. Just before Feygin, a difficult information event ended. By the time of the broadcast, I was in a state where I fell asleep while walking and could barely move my tongue,” Arestovich complained.
He explained how he learned about the downed missile.
“My friend, a former air defense officer, was walking down the street at the time of the hit. He told me that he 100% heard two explosions and identified the first as air defense work. So far he hasn't been wrong. And I was sure that the missile was shot down,” Arestovich wrote.
His explanations are unlikely to be accepted.
The mayor of Dnepropetrovsk Boris Filatov (who promised to “hang Russian scum”) today again demanded reprisals against Arestovich.
“He got carried away. This is such a narcissist who has either indulgences or some options of some of the helmsmen on Bankova. I am an official, I cannot speak harshly during a war. But when the commander of the Armed Forces is forced to refute his statements, which discredit both the state and the situation, I would say that this needs to be responded to. This is a gift to Russian propaganda! Why is he doing this? I believe that counterintelligence and the SBU should ask him the question.
But if they remain silent...You know, some bad priests can and should be driven out, but this is the case. They are with some newspapers, leaflets, which they hide somewhere in their diocese. But a man came out and completely discredited this situation. And the situation is 100, 110 percent clear, that no air defense was working there! Why did he open his filthy mouth? I don’t want to talk, I’m on edge right now,” said Boris Filatov.
