Ramstein-3 will arm Ukraine: Germany will provide MLRS, Slovakia - helicopters, three more countries - artillery
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin reported on the major aid packages announced today by NATO ministers following the third Ramstein meeting.
This was reported by the Pentagon press service.
“Many countries are urgently supplying Ukraine with long-range systems and ammunition. Other friends have taken on new commitments to train Ukraine's forces and maintain its military systems,” the Pentagon chief said.
According to him, there are too many such countries, but he outlined the main announcements of today's meeting.
“I want to thank Germany, which today announced that it will provide Ukraine with three multiple launch rocket systems and guided munitions for MLRS. We are working side by side with both the UK and now Germany to develop Ukraine's long-range fire capabilities,” Austin said.
He noted that these efforts are also based on the transfer of long-range HIMARS systems to the United States for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Let me also thank Slovakia, which announced a significant donation of Mi helicopters and urgently needed missile ammunition. We also discussed important new artillery donations from many countries, including Canada, Poland and the Netherlands,” the minister added.
Let us note that this decision worsens the situation in the combat zone for the group of Russian troops in Ukraine, since in the future, with an increase in such supplies, it may deprive the Russians of their current advantage in firepower and artillery.
Thank you!
