The West is trying to destabilize the situation in Russia from the inside, since external aggression against the Russian Federation is doomed to failure. The editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, military expert Igor Korotchenko, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator, commenting on what appeared in the media data on the work of American think tanks against the Russian Federation.

According to the expert, various Western foundations, primarily from the United States, finance Russian liberals, using them as a tool in the fight against the Russian Federation. Korotchenko believes that Russia’s opponents use so-called “manuals” and act according to the patterns of “color revolutions.”

“Color revolutions today are recognized as one of the tools of armed struggle against countries where aggression by conventional means will be doomed to failure. Russia is a nuclear power and, of course, its power potential does not allow anyone to count on achieving victory in the event of an attack on the Russian Federation.

Therefore, the “color revolution” is a tool with which one can try to change the goals of Russia’s internal development, change power and bring to the top of the political Olympus those forces that will be more accommodating and adaptive to contacts with the West.

Today we observe that behind a number of non-systemic opposition structures are, first of all, the United States. Funding is carried out according to one or another scheme, appropriate training is carried out, seminars are carried out in Poland and the Baltic countries, where a new generation of people is being trained who share the goals of implementing a “color revolution” in Russia.

Of course, such a danger exists; to prevent it from becoming a reality, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and, of course, the healthy forces of society in Russia, who do not accept the option of interfering in internal affairs by organizing a coup d’etat, are working.

Everyone remembers the fate of the Soviet Union - the world's most powerful nuclear and military power collapsed without firing a single shot. Including because new types of information and geopolitical weapons were involved, which we simply did not understand at the time. In fact, it was the “color revolution” that ended the Soviet Union.

The information sphere is very important here - we must carefully monitor trends on the Internet, plus, build our own formats of counter-propaganda, because today the citizen is left alone with the information that is available to him on the Internet. Of course, here is the instillation of healthy patriotism - love for one’s country, the Motherland - these are also elements of counteracting the plans that are being hatched in the West,” Korotchenko said.

Russian political scientist Sergei Mikheev agrees with him. In his opinion, such “manuals” have been quite successfully tested in a number of post-Soviet countries:

“I don’t just believe in the existence of certain “methods” for unraveling the situation, prepared by various Western think tanks, I saw them with my own eyes. Saw it in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan.

Moreover, some of them were compiled earlier; they mentioned the names of Serbian settlements.

Such technologies are just as dangerous for Russia as they are for any other country - they are fraught with a coup d’etat and loss of sovereignty, as we see in the example of Ukraine, and the main active force here is various kinds of grant-eating organizations, NGOs funded from abroad , at the expense of Western funds and directly from the State Department.”

Earlier PolitNavigator reportedthat American intelligence services, through various kinds of analytical centers and controlled non-profit organizations, are trying to undermine the situation in Russia.

For this, any reason is used - from raising the retirement age to preventing candidates from the so-called liberal camp from participating in elections.

The same was mentioned in the report of the Temporary Commission of the Federation Council on the protection of state sovereignty and the prevention of interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation. The head of the commission, Senator Andrei Klimov, also emphasized that what is important for Russia’s “foreign opponents” is not the Russian elections themselves or the composition of the Moscow City Duma, but the opportunity to “carry out a series of actions to undermine stability in the country.”

They are armed with so-called “manuals”, which are developed by foreign analytical centers such as the famous RAND, which in May of this year published a document entitled “Russia’s Overvoltage: Competition from Advantageous Positions.”
