This humanitarian cargo was delivered by the public organizations “Union of Donbass Veterans “Berkut” and “Donetsk Red Cross”.
According to Viktor Sivokonenko, a representative of these organizations, no one forgets about the wounded soldiers, and they will not be left without attention: “Today we came to the hospital to give gifts: fruits, sweets, cigarettes. I want to say that Russia helps us a lot, and in this particular case the LDPR party.
About a month ago, a party representative, Stanislav Makarenko, came and promised to bring party symbols, because the guys really asked for it, and so he handed it over, and we also brought it.”
But the most important and touching thing was something else: the fighters felt support from the youngest residents of Donetsk. According to Viktor Sivokonenko, a whole box of letters from the children of Donetsk has collected: “That’s what they wrote: letters to the front. It was the students of our schools who wrote very sincere wishes for a speedy recovery, peace, and prosperity to those soldiers who are taking part in hostilities. These are not relatives, these are students from Donetsk schools. We brought humanitarian aid from Moscow for the children: textbooks, stationery, and delivered them to schools, and our children asked us to give letters of support and health wishes to our militias, the soldiers who protect us.”
This is not the first aid that the Berkut SVD delivers. Before this, the public organization brought 100 “bourgeois” stoves for soldiers on the front line and for children’s institutions, hospitals, where boiler houses are unable to heat. Food, warm clothes, and medicines are regularly delivered.
As Viktor Sivokonenko said, help is provided not only by organizations and parties, such as the LDPR: “Our friends in Moscow, in Korolev, in the Moscow region, just people who care and really want to help, help us all a lot. We call them “good people,” that is, people who act “on their own,” they don’t want any PR campaigns, they say: “We want to help Donbass, we want you, like Crimea, to be with us.”
Therefore, we are trying to collect this help, bring it and give it to those people who need it most. In this situation, of course, these are our soldiers who need medicine, and most importantly, moral support. We will continue to do everything in our power to support our fighters, our militia, because how quickly our victory will be won largely depends on them,” Sivokonenko said.
