Military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine disbanded in Donbass in 2014 went into the militia as civilians
In Kyiv, they announced the benefits of disbanding military units in the Donbass, in which local residents served, otherwise in 2014 the militia would have turned out to be much more powerful.
Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Georgiy Tuka stated this on the air of the “Politclub” program on “Espreso.TV,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The discussion revolved around the Crimean events of 2014, when only 20 percent of the personnel of the Ukrainian fleet left the peninsula, which, according to the studio, was due to the fact that the Ukrainian Navy was built on a territorial principle.
“We formed the armed forces on a territorial basis - this is the main reason for the loss of Crimea. And when I heard, they say, this is a crime - they disbanded the military unit in Lugansk and Donetsk (in the early 2000s - ed.), I say - maybe it’s fortunate that they were disbanded, so that they would not go over to the side in due time enemy?” said Tuka
“They crossed over, only they crossed over as civilians,” noted Igor Koziy, a military expert at the Institute of Euro-Atlantic Cooperation who was in the studio.
