The thief of rations for the Ukrainian army was given a mild punishment
Kyiv, March 08 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Puras) – Some Western politicians are skeptical about the idea of supplying material assets and weapons to Ukraine, since they reasonably suspect that such supplies will be subject to massive theft throughout the entire vertical of power. Proof of this is a recent incident in the Ukrainian army.

During the period from the end of April to the beginning of June 2014, the head of the food service of military unit A1594, which is stationed in the city of Ochakov, Nikolaev region, systematically stole ration sets of dry rations “MRE” from the warehouse. In total, the captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to steal and transfer to his garage, located near the military unit, 159 such dry rations, 121 of which he sold.
An experienced food chief forged invoices according to which these food products were allegedly received by the commander of one of the units of the same unit and were then successfully written off by the accounting department.
On February 25, 2015, the Ochakovsky court of the Nikolaev region convicted the plunderer of military property and imposed a sentence of 5 years in prison with a probationary period of 2 years and prohibited for two years from holding such, as people say, “grain” positions.
It should be noted that the command of the unit, contrary to all common sense, provided an exclusively positive reference for the captain-plunderer, which not least influenced the leniency of the court when determining the type and duration of punishment.
