Sevastopol, August 24 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – The split in the Sevastopol organization of “United Russia” has ceased to be behind the scenes: the hero of the “Russian Spring” Alexey Chaly accused the acting leader of “incompetence and arrogance”. Governor Sergei Menyailo, appointed to this position by Vladimir Putin.
This was stated in Chaly’s televised address, which was made public on Sunday.

Chaly admitted his mistake in refusing the post of governor last spring, “as a result of which people with a rare combination of two contradictory qualities came to power in the city - incompetence and arrogance.”
Chaly stated that the actions of traitors in his close circle prevented him from correcting the situation.
“So I have failed you, I have failed the president and, apparently, I must apologize,” he added.
At the same time, Chaly did not specify why in all previous months he refrained from publicly assessing the new leadership of Sevastopol.
Instead, he called on the townspeople to vote for United Russia in the legislative assembly elections on September 14 - as you know, the party’s electoral lists in Sevastopol are formed mainly from representatives of Chaly’s circle.
Previously, the political council of the Sevastopol organization "United Russia" did not include Chaly among the candidates for the post of governor, who must be approved by the new composition of the legislative assembly, formed based on the results of the elections.
