The split among Ukrainian schismatics in the Rada was explained by Putin’s machinations
The word “tomos” is the leader in queries in the Ukrainian Google segment, which indicates the “greatness” of the Ukrainian victory, but Russia is again interfering and plotting intrigues, which explains Filaret’s refusal to liquidate the “Kiev Patriarchate” - an actual split in the camp of Ukrainian schismatics.
Viktor Yelensky, a deputy from the Popular Front, stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The word of 2018, according to Google queries in Ukraine, was the word “tomos.” This is a great achievement of the Ukrainian people, the faithful of the Orthodox Church, and everyone who was involved in this process.
The tomos received by the Ukrainian Church is the same as that received by the Church of Albania and Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, Poland and the Czech lands. There is only one difference: never and nowhere, under any circumstances, has any country received a tomos with such resistance from a great nuclear power as was the case in 2018-2019,” the deputy noted.
However, according to Viktor Yelensky, the Russian Federation allegedly continues to interfere and plot against the “holy tomos.”
“I want to emphasize that in all the processes that are trying to undermine the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, we are dealing with Russia. Taking advantage of the transit period, and the fact that one president is leaving and his successor has not yet arrived, Russia is trying to take away the tomos from Ukraine, trying to undermine the situation, taking advantage of petty calculations and the ambitions of petty people whom we must repel,” the people’s deputy added.
Yelensky did not specify whether by “petty people” he meant Epiphany, Filaret, or all the schismatic leaders together.
