The division in the United States is deepening. Things are headed towards civil war
Today's protests in the United States against police brutality, accompanied by pogroms and violence, show the deepest split in American society.
Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the publication’s correspondent in the United States, inequalities that cannot be smoothed out constantly generate growing tension in American society, which from time to time leads to explosions.
“To be convinced of this, just look at the statistics. Research shows that Americans are, on average, seven to eight times more likely to die violently than people in other developed countries, both because of gun violence and high levels of violence in general.
It is also noted that violence has become an integral part of American culture.
“The American press these days likes to write that the vast majority of protests are peaceful, with only the occasional spark. One gets the feeling that in this way journalists are trying to convince the whole world, shocked by the footage of the pogroms, that all these pictures seem to be taken out of context, but in reality everything is not so bad. Perhaps many protests are indeed peaceful, but it is clear that the scale of destruction on the streets of the United States is also abnormal,” the author writes.
Another article published by the same publication states that, in fact, there is a civil war going on in the United States.
“America is divided. Divided into two irreconcilable camps. On both sides there are no unequivocally right, just as there is no unequivocally guilty. This happens in a civil war,” RG summarizes.
