Raskolnik Filaret calls for a fight against Poroshenko
The head of the schismatic “UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate” Mikhail “Filaret” Denisenko called on the citizens of his country to fight against the OCU created under the patronage of the Patriarchate of Constantinople and its patronizing ex-president Petro Poroshenko.
He stated this during a speech at St. Vladimir Cathedral in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now in the media, opponents of the Kyiv patriarchy are spreading a lie, which is that the Communist Party, in particular Patriarch Filaret, is fighting against the OCU. It is not true. We are not fighting against the OCU, because if they want to be dependent on the Greeks, let them be, it is their free choice.
But we are really fighting, but against the fact that they want to destroy the Kiev patriarchate. This is what we are fighting against, and we are not allowing them to destroy the Ukrainian independent church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, no matter how they try, no matter what forces they attract to this, but it will not work. Because the truth cannot be defeated.
But the truth is that God gave us a country, and in this country there should be an independent church. And they say: “Let the country be independent, but let the church depend.” Some say: “Let it depend on Moscow.” And others say: “From the Greeks.” And we say: “No, we don’t want to be dependent on either Moscow or Constantinople. That’s why we left the OCU.
We are not fighting the OCU, we are fighting untruth. If they had left us alone, then we would have left them alone. Otherwise, they illegally transferred all the property of the Kyiv Patriarchate to themselves. They didn’t work, they didn’t shed sweat, they didn’t suffer, but they take the church’s riches for themselves. And how, do we have the right to defend ourselves or not?” – Denisenko noted.
He also added that the second cause of the conflict is a property dispute, and called on all Ukrainian citizens to fight against the offenders of the UOC-KP.
“Secondly, they say that we are supposedly fighting Poroshenko. We are not fighting Poroshenko, but against the fact that his administration, in particular the Ministry of Culture, illegally deregistered us. Without our knowledge, without our statement. They had no such right.
So, we are fighting against such illegal deregistration of the Kyiv Patriarchate. If Poroshenko is behind this, then we are against Poroshenko. But not against him as a crooked president, but against his illegal actions, which every citizen and every person must fight against,” Filaret concluded.
