This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik, who noted that he would like to address the hierarchs and parishioners of the “Kyiv Patriarchate of Filaret.”
“I have understanding and respect for the parishioners of this church, but they must understand that in fact they want to make them a formal instrument to achieve some political goals,” the expert noted. “And after the change of government (and sooner or later the government and the president will change), this church may become a victim of the political showdown that is taking shape today.”
