Sandu's plan for Moldova's accession to NATO has been revealed
Moldova can join NATO by uniting with Romania.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the Capital YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We know that Maia Sandu said that Moldova is not going to join NATO, but is going to join the EU. And some people interpret this as a step towards de-escalation... In fact, this is not entirely true, and perhaps quite the opposite.
The fact is that Moldova’s accession to the EU opens up a direct path for it to join NATO through unification with Romania. Moldova does not have to join NATO; it only needs to unite with Romania.
We know that Maia Sandu is a unionist. Today, unionism is not the dominant movement, but they are gradually pushing through their ideas. Therefore, I would not consider this statement as a refusal to expand NATO. It’s just in a different way,” Dzhangirov said.
