The secret of Poroshenko's hyperactivity has been revealed just days before the elections
The main motivation for the current hyperactivity of Petro Poroshenko, who is clinging to the presidency, is the fear that when he loses his position and immunity, his current comrades will hand him over to the investigative authorities.
Ukrainian journalist and political observer Mikhail Podolyak writes about this on his blog, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The essence of the growing catastrophe is that Poroshenko’s entire five-year tenure is a series of dark and murky stories. Agreements. Corruption. Budget looting. For gigantic amounts. Inside the country. These are also no less strange agreements and theft in foreign markets. Especially... in Russian. Gray and black schemes in the energy, transit, and defense industries. Hundreds of cool looking people who were just swimming in the smuggled cash. And all this shadow surreal is complemented by many abandoned partners who are now silent (because the president). But tomorrow (when it is no longer the president) they will tell a lot.
But Pyotr Alekseevich’s guys are completely unprepared for this. Neither legally nor financially. They categorically do not want to leave, because firstly, the circuits are not closed and not cleared. And secondly, there is not the slightest agreement with potential replacements. Of course, after the PA, an audit of all this dregs will be carried out. A lot of terrible things will come to light. Multi-page criminal cases will appear. Some of them, of course, will be “merged.” But not all. Because the public nerve is exposed and demands punishment.
This is where Pyotr Alekseevich’s large-scale and desperate resistance stems from, refusing to acknowledge his outsider status. Pure pragmatics. It’s absolutely forbidden to leave - the “ticket office at the exit” is already waiting,” writes the journalist.
According to Podolyak, “His (Poroshenko-Ed) predatory and young entourage was confident that he would terminate his second term. He will deceive someone, buy someone. And therefore they have time in the middle of the second five-year plan to begin professionally cleaning tails, cutting off circuits, and preparing sterile waste. A hasty exit now is a tragedy. Because you take any surname, and there’s a ton of facts based on it. Everything is still alive - wires, telephones, participants. Issue invoices. Not only to the PA himself, but - and this is most important - to the members of his team. And the members of his team are, in fact, a very weak and cowardly link. They are “heroes” while they are undercover. And as soon as the power “umbrella” collapses, they will start crying and talking. After all, Chel convinced them that everything was normal and they could continue to rob in peace. In fact, the possibility of large-scale criminal cases has loomed.
And here's what else is important; as soon as they start taking them for loin parts, they will immediately tell... about the Main Customer,” he writes.
“Now Poroshenko is no longer faced with the question of maintaining power for the sake of continuing the budgetary and schematic enrichment of his “friends.” Now it is more a question of mandatory responsibility. It will not be possible to have time to significantly clean something up. Transfer power to controlled heirs too. Prove your innocence even more so. Because in such fast-moving events there are always a lot of restless performers, who were still loyal yesterday, but today are hastily scurrying around in the prosecutor’s corridors to be the first to tell the story,” the journalist sums up.
