The secret of Ukrainian debt to the IMF has been revealed
Ukraine is servicing IMF debts not through economic growth, but through increasing tariffs and reducing the standard of living of citizens.
People's Deputy and former commander of the Aidar battalion Sergei Melnichuk stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The IMF is not a bank, it is a credit institution. We pay this interest (on IMF loans), but this interest does not come from the money we earn, which should work in our economy. By raising tariffs, we are simply taking this money out of people’s pockets to pay this interest. But the economy is not working. or rather, it works for certain groups of people who make money from it. The state does not earn or spend this money on interest payments,” he said.
