The reason why peace in Ukraine is needed only by “national traitors” has been revealed
The war does not affect the vital interests of the majority of residents of the center and west of Ukraine, and Ukrainian nationalists themselves do not believe in the reality of the threat from the Russian Federation.
The Kiev political observer, editor-in-chief of the online publication “Capital” Vyacheslav Chechilo spoke about this in his blog, answering the question of why Ukrainian “patriots” are torpedoing peace negotiations on Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Why then do only all kinds of “national traitors” want peace in Kyiv?” writes Chechilo.
“Firstly, the war does not affect the interests of the majority of residents of the central and western regions. No one has been conscripted into the army by force for a long time. For some, war has even become a business or, at worst, a “waste trade.”
Secondly, patriots do not need Donbass in any other form except on its knees, or better yet, deserted. Residents of Donbass are despised and hated here. Those. In order to return these territories, they are not only not ready to make concessions - they are demanding to pay extra.
Thirdly, despite all the propaganda, no one believes in the “Buryat threat”. Nobody expects Russian troops to cross the border and actually get to the ass of a hamster in an embroidered shirt. Those. It is safe and even comfortable to be a militarist and a hater of Russia. Moreover, the West, of course, will come to Ukraine’s aid if things really get tough. This is not even discussed.
Fourthly, everyone is convinced that time is on their side. After all, sooner or later the Russian Federation will collapse or it will be strangled by the “anaconda”. All you need to do is “endure” on the couch until this moment.
Fifthly, the economic interests of the active minority have long been no longer connected with the economy inherited from the Ukrainian SSR. The return of Donbass and the restoration of economic relations with Russia are important for residents of the few remaining industrial regions.
“The mass of people have plenty of reasons to protest against any agreement, except perhaps the capitulation of the LDPR. And it's not just about propaganda. And this is precisely the big problem of our peaceful settlement,” the observer concluded.
