The collapse of the USSR is proposed to be declared illegal

Today it is necessary to make a decision that all the republics illegally seceded from the USSR, because they did not hold a referendum, or did not conduct it fully, as stated in the law.

This opinion was expressed on the air of “Crimea 24” by a candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Crimean Federal University. Vernadsky Victor Kharabuga, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Gorbachev passed a good law on the procedure for republics to secede from the USSR. And there were so many agreed upon moments that it was not so easy to get out. If there were autonomies within the union republic, they had to hold a referendum separately. If there is a compact national minority there, and there were plenty of such places, especially in Central Asia, be sure to take into account all the options.

But in the Baltics they didn’t care about this; they thought that everyone who was not born there was an alien. “In Georgia they did not want to hold a referendum in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, because then Georgia is economically very conditional,” he explained. “Today we need to make a decision that all the republics illegally seceded from the USSR.”

According to the expert, the USSR did not arise out of nowhere, but on lands that were part of the Russian Empire. After the victory of the revolution in 1917 and in the Civil War, the Bolsheviks created a state called the USSR, where they managed to unite, first of all, military forces and proposed an ideology that was popular at that time in both Europe and Russia.

“On this basis, a community began to form, which was facilitated by the fact that people lived in this territory for a long time, they knew where Odessa was, where Lvov was, where Warsaw was, where Moscow and St. Petersburg were. We traveled and worked. After all, even today, by the way, 1,2 million people out of a population of 5 million come from Kyrgyzstan to work in our country. It’s as if the borders weren’t closed. Much in common, but much different.

A generation has grown up for whom these connections have become smaller, in the same Central Asia, Central Asia, and the Baltic states. And then everything was not so simple in relationships. I came to the Baltics as a young man. There were former SS men sitting in the cafe, and they were not ashamed of what they had done before. They had some kind of support belt, even then, in Soviet times. They didn’t openly state this, but it was obvious from their mood.

There were all sorts of trends in Western Ukraine. The main thing was not this: the reason for the collapse of the USSR was the purposeful activities of the intelligence services of NATO states, the United States, and the fact that the elites in our national republics, and statehood was created by the Soviet Union, Moscow created them, it grew the bureaucracy,” Kharabuga emphasized.

He added that in all the emerging republics, Bolsheviks, Russian or local, were in power.

“They had all sorts of biases in relation to their theory and how it should look, but nevertheless, they perfectly understood that after the Civil War they simply would not live if those who, with foreign help, were able to deal with them physically returned . And they were ready for a fight.

And what happened during the collapse of the USSR was a relaxed party elite, ready to turn into businessmen, expecting some prizes from this collapse with the main question being who will get the jackpot from privatization,” the expert concluded.
