INSIDER reports this with reference to sources.
According to the UN, the criminal proceedings were closed by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on December 26 due to the lack of proof of Dovgy's guilt in the incriminated crime.
The materials of the closed case were transferred to the Kyiv prosecutor's office.
The Kiev publication INSIDER recalls that the SAP and the GPU for quite a long period of time “played football” with the Dovgoy case, transferring it to each other.
In particular, SAPO was ready to close this proceeding several months ago if Dovgy agreed to the closure due to non-rehabilitative circumstances, and transferred the case to the GPU.
However, this proposal was not accepted by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, who made adjustments to the proceedings and sent it back to SAPO.
