Payback for the Maidan: Ukraine will face a new tariff increase in exchange for a handout from the IMF
From April, Ukrainians will face another increase in gas prices. Deputy Alexander Vilkul stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is preparing a corresponding decision.

“The Cabinet of Ministers is still preparing a radical increase in gas prices for the population. Several months of half-truths and attempts to avoid specific answers ended with the Prime Minister finally admitting that, under the terms of cooperation with the IMF, the government plans to significantly increase gas tariffs. They call it such a beautiful and vague formulation as bringing gas prices for the population to market levels. In fact, this phrase hides only one thing – yet another astronomical price in the bills of Ukrainian citizens, the majority of whom cannot even pay the existing tariffs,” Vilkul said.
Let us recall that on the eve of Euromaidan, Russia offered Ukraine participation in the Customs Union, billions of loans and a reduction in gas prices, which would avoid increasing prices for the population.
