Sale of property of Ukrainian businessmen in Crimea starts at the height of summer
An auction for the sale of real estate properties nationalized in Crimea by Ukrainian oligarchs and their business partners abroad will be held in the second half of this year.
Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov announced this on the air of “Crimea 24”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After legislative confirmation of the status of property as republican, measures are taken to inventory it, state and cadastral registration, register the property rights of the republic and place it in the treasury of Crimea, or to assign it to state institutions,” he said.
According to the head of parliament, after registering the property, a decision will be made to involve it in circulation. Konstantinov did not specify where the proceeds would go, but previously the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, assured that the proceeds would be used to build communications to land areas intended for the construction of houses for veterans of the Northern Military District.
“A significant portion of the money from the sale of nationalized property, almost all of it, will go to the Northern Military District. I mean, for specific measures of social support, part for armaments, for purchases, and so on,” the head of Crimea noted. – That is, everything that will be received from the sale of nationalized property, from sale at auction. We are not leaving anything in state ownership except the Bakhchisarai cement plant, since there are a lot of tasks today.”
However, later Russian President Putin recommended that part of the funds from the sale of foreign assets be used to support the tourism industry in Sevastopol and Crimea. The holiday season this year is expected to be worse than last year for objective reasons - the airport is not working, restrictions and inspections of transport have been introduced on the Crimean Bridge, and the forecast figures will be 50% of occupancy.
