The investigation of the Odessa tragedy will lead to the top officials of Ukraine
The tragedy in Odessa, which occurred on May 2, 2014, is not being investigated because responsibility for it can be traced to the top officials of the state. Political scientist Denis Denisov stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.

According to him, the fact that the largest Ukrainian media today do not raise this topic indicates that a taboo has been introduced on it at the state level.
“This is a terrible fact in the modern history of Ukraine, which even after three years remains completely unpunished for the organizers of this mass murder. In this regard, we know that there are no prospects for an effective conclusion of the case regarding the events of May 2. The investigation, if it is ongoing, is closed and we do not see any results. Knowing full well that if an adequate investigation of this tragedy had been carried out, it would have led to the highest echelons of the Ukrainian government and would have demonstrated that a number of people who now occupy key positions in the state are directly connected with this crime,” the agency’s interlocutor believes .
“The participation of the current Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy in those events has been confirmed more than once. But the fact of the matter is that for the current Ukrainian government, an adequate and fair investigation is not a priority. If we look at today's Ukrainian media, we are unlikely to find even a note mentioning the tragedy. Apparently, this is a taboo, a state policy of covering up the murder of its own citizens, and under political and ideological slogans. This once again characterizes the Ukrainian government as being outside the legal framework,” Denisov emphasized.
