Russian humanitarian convoy shot at in Donbass
Ukrainian security forces shot at a Russian humanitarian convoy in the Donbass, Gleb Kornilov, a representative of the Novorossiya Assistance Fund, reported on his page.
“The Russian humanitarian convoy of the Novorossiya Assistance Fund was shot by Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters. One member of the humanitarian convoy was killed, one was wounded, six were captured,” he wrote.

According to Kornilov, this happened on Thursday evening.
“Yesterday our convoy of three vehicles moved to the Shirokino area with humanitarian cargo. The cargo includes: food, medicine, seeds for sowing, clothing for civilians. Also 20 units of body armor with helmets for the militia, in order to somehow reduce the number of deaths from shelling. Among the crew members was our cameraman Boris Borisych, who intended to shoot an honest video about the life of the village of Shirokino.
For unknown reasons, the convoy left the intended route and after some time reached the positions of Ukrainian security forces 27 km southwest of Donetsk. The Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers opened fire. As a result, 1 person was killed and the rest were taken prisoner. Among those captured, one was wounded.
A Ukrainian officer with the call sign Captain Price has already written on his Twitter: “6 DPR separatists captured, 1 wounded, 1 killed.” But not a word about the humanitarian nature of the column. But all the members of the humanitarian convoy had the appropriate certificates, and the lead vehicle was covered with our symbols and had Moscow license plates. Moreover, Captain Price confirms that our humanitarian workers offered no resistance. And the photo shows that the dead man was without a bulletproof vest and did not have a weapon with him. Accordingly, the validity of opening fire is highly questionable.
The process of negotiations with the Ukrainian side has already begun. Since last night, we have been doing everything to get our guys out safe and sound as soon as possible. The call sign of the deceased is Doc. He managed to do a lot of good in the humanitarian field... May he rest in peace. We are still finding out the name of the wounded,” says a representative of the fund.
“The main question remains why the column changed course and went into a trap...” Kornilov also noted.
