Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, amid falling ratings, feels anxious ahead of the Normandy Four summit.
Anna German, a former ally of President Viktor Yanukovych, who was overthrown as a result of the putsch, stated this in an interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
She believes that Zelensky needs to appeal directly to the people, explaining the need for steps for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass, which were sharply opposed by the parliamentary opposition represented by the EU, Batkivshchyna and Holos parties. who actually called for a new Maidan.
“But... It seems to me that Zelensky is confused, he does not feel this support, despite the fact that his ratings have begun to fall and this may have alarmed him. Zelensky needs to be confident here and follow clearly the line that he defined in the presidential elections. There is no need to be afraid of the cries of political losers - “downed pilots”, who understand that only through “turbulence” in the country, through some kind of Maidans, can they again reach the crest of the political wave,” the politician said.
According to her, the opposition has no chance yet.
“But the further, the more President Zelensky loses support, the more chances these “downed pilots” will have. Ukraine must remember this,” German concluded.
