“Unblocked” checkpoint near Smelye for the third day without water and surrounded – volunteers
Severodonetsk, October 24 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – For the third day at a checkpoint near the Lugansk village of Smeloe, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been surrounded and without water.

“Now the post is completely surrounded. A unit of the 80th brigade is stationed there. The guys have been without water for three days,” says a message from Diana Makarova’s volunteer foundation on Facebook.
According to them, the pro-Russian rebels do not allow water to be delivered to the surrounded soldiers, nor are they allowed to be withdrawn from their position.
“Now the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the OSCE have left. The headquarters and command are stupidly frozen. They have no solution. Not far from the 32nd checkpoint, only the 31st remained. National Guard. They can’t do anything,” the volunteers note.
On social networks, supporters of the militia report that one tank of the Ukrainian security forces was destroyed, the wounded were taken out of the checkpoint and the command left, and 25-30 Ukrainian military personnel remained there.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the National Security and Defense Council stated that security forces in the first half of the day on October 19 cleared the areas in the area of the settlement.
